    Kiwano Melons

I decided to buy one of these Kiwano Melons for Earl the last time I went grocery shopping and he's crazy about this. He eats it rind and all, and so far none of it has ended up on the bottom of the cage.

This fruit is native to africa, not sure if it naturally occurs in the same area as wild African Greys though.

That is very intresting!! I have never heard of that type of melon. Where did you find it? Do you live in the US? I would like to get one for Biscotti & see what he thinks!

I would love to see a picture of the Kiwano melon. Perhaps Ana Grey would love them too!

I do live in the US. most grocery stores seem to carry them from time to time here(both in Maine and Texas), but I'd never bought one before.

Here is a picture of one:

Goodness - I've never seen anything like this before - I've just googled it to find out more - it's other name is an "English Tomato". Well, being English and loving tomatoes I can't say I have EVER seen one!!!

I don't think you can get them over here - but it looks like a mighty fine fid food! Thanks for sharing this

Funny looking fruit, the inside resembles the center of a cucumber and the outside looks like some kind of torture thing, will have to look for it on my next visit to the grocery store.
