This is a good link, thank you Sheila. It's unbelievable how many everyday and seemingly innocent items can be dangerous to our birds.
This is a subject very close to me as my Cockatiel Cracker was very ill at 4 months old with this and it took very quick intervention by me and a dedicated vet and his team to save him. If this link helps just one bird I will be more than happy. http://www.avianweb.com/heavymetalpoisoningbirds.html
Thanks for the information and site Sheila.

More bird "owners"need to be aware of this problem especially as many of the cages have a lead type pain from China. Caution is required. Good informationa nd it should make a difference.
are the lazt bones cages ok??? i have one but i dunno what its made out of
ty I saved that info incase I ever need it for future use
I wanted to resurrect this thread. There are many common everyday items we may occasionally give our birds to chew on while we are busy doing something else. I know myself, I have given Talon an occasional twistie tie, she loves them! Burt that is on the toxic list. Please take the time to click on the link above and read thru the items we need to be cautious of. It may save your birds life and it only takes a couple of minutes to read.
Thanks for re-posting this thread Penny. We all need a little remember every once in a while to keep us all on our toes for our fids good health.

This is a definite read, we feed all our fids "cilantro" as a caution..Jay
A Grey is a wild animal removed from the wild, bred to be companions. They are long removed from being able to take care of themselves but not so long as to forget at times they're still wild...so it's up to us to make sure we protect them. We're the reason they demand all this attention. We removed them from the wild. Jay
