Joy I don't have any cockatiels but one member who does is ramsabi, he has babies right now and could probably give you some advice as to what to do, you can pm him if you like.
We have a female Cockatiel that is 2 1/2 yrs. old. She has been laying eggs since about the end of August and to date there have probably been close to 30 (I have lost count). First, I took them out and then read that they should be left with her for 10 days or so. I have tried partially covering her cage, now I don't know what else to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Joy, If your hen is laying a lot of eggs, please make sure she gets xtra calcium.. The best way to treat a egg layer is to keep the daylight hr's under 12 a day, don't mist as often, very little "soft food" and nothing that looks like a nest...Let her sit the eggs for 30 days, when she loses interest, remove them...A good 'Tiel site is http://www.cockatielcottage.net/ :P

A Grey is a wild animal removed from the wild, bred to be companions. They are long removed from being able to take care of themselves but not so long as to forget at times they're still wild...so it's up to us to make sure we protect them. We're the reason they demand all this attention. We removed them from the wild. Jay
Thanks for the input - I did pm Ramsabi and he has responded. The site that Jayd gave me is awesome and have started reading and will find out all I can there. Thanks so much to all! P.S. no eggs in the last 2 days woo hoo![]()
That's great, karma to you, thanks all...
