Petrie is now home!

    Hey all I just wanted to say my CAG, Petrie, is finally home. He came home this past Friday and seems to be adjusting fairly well. I pretty much left him a long the first couple of days but he seemed like he always wanted to be out with me. So if that's what he wanted, that was fine with me. He seems to be eating and drinking plenty. His favorite thing to do is sit on my shoulder in the evening and rest his eyes. The only thing I'm wondering about is he's been just whining like a baby the past day or two. Is that normal? It's nothing loud or annoying, just a little whine. Any input? He sitting here on my computer desk right now with his head tilted and starring at me while I type. Pretty cute actually. Anyway I was just wondering about the whining and I'll be sure to post some pictures of him here at home soon. Thanks for everything.

    Oh, he's as cute as a button!! Love the pic! Welcome home, Petrie!

    Can't give you any help about the whining, tho. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

    Congratulations on your new addition!

    BBlack19, Petrie is LOVELY {Love-0002011D}

    When is it that he's whining? Maybe he's like a real baby and wants to be near you all the time and whines if not?

Post edited by: FairY, at: 2007/02/07 21:36

    That's kind of what i thought FairY but he does it sitting on my shoulder or sitting on the bed. He doesn't do it when he's in his cage. So I try letting him into his cage and he just ends up jumping and flying back to me! He doesn't constantly do it and it's not bothering me or annoying me. Just trying to find out why he's doing it! I think I'll figure it out at some point. I took a few more pictures of him last night and I'm going to post them sometime tonight, if you want to see some more.

    Oh, that would be very nice, BBlack19 - thank you!

    I'm trying to figure what this whining may be, but I've never heard of it, although I know from friends that during the breeding season it happens they can whine a bit....

    but that doesn't apply to your Petrie

    Petrie is now home!

    BBlack, Petrie is a very cute Gray! I remember bringing Earl home from the breeders the day after his eyes opened. My wife and I got to feed him formula, then ween him onto pellets. That was quite a bonding experience. Earl is closer and more trusting than Gem or Linus, whom I got from pet stores.

    Wow, Linus, that must have felt as if you'd brought home a real baby...
