Hi all, My CAG Nobby is a very fussy eater but it's not his fault as his previous owner never offered a exceedingly varied diet just poor qaulity parrot mix from the local pet shop. In short I have introduced fruit and veggies into his diet, some he likes but mostly he leaves what I put out. He does however, love celery!

There were several questions about dangerous food types so I decided to compile a list of foods that are considered as toxic to african greys:

Alcohol
Chocolate
Coffee
Salt
Tea
Uncooked PotatoAvocado Pear

Please note two things:
1. If they eat a very small amount it will not kill them and might even go unnoticed, but this is something they should AVOID.

Hi. I keep parrots (Amazons and greys)and we have always used covers. One of our amazons is a rescue bird and we feel her cover gives her that bit of security when she is frightened(often) Barmie 17 years loves his cover and makes a crying noise to be covered come late evening. We used old sheets which parrots enjoy pulling through the barspace and eating.They look abit of a mess and lets face it

I have a brand new African Grey (Timneh) who is only 9 weeks old. I have never had a parrot before though I have done a lot of reading.
When he preens, there is a lot of white flaky "dandruff". Is this normal? Is it part of losing his baby fuzz? I have only had him for 3 days now. How often should I mist him?

I purchased a 6 week old bird today and are feeding the Parrot AVI+ Handrearing Feed for caged birds. This states that no other suppliments are necc. while feeding this. I am not sure how often to feed the bird, or how much at a time? Should I feed the bird fruit at this age?

Hello every one , I went and got K-pax yesterday. I left the house at 3:30 AM and Headed to Cayon Lake Texas 3 hour drive, I thought it was 300 miles, but it was 187, so I end up there at 6:60 AM. It was a long 2 hour wait being there 2 and 1/2 hours early, I didnt want to knock on the door and wake folks I dont Know or Know ). A nice old man and his wife were the breeders, real nice folks. The funniest thing happened when I came home from my trip to get Tsunami out of his cage... First of all, I interestingly have him cordially fed this ZuPreem pellot food whilst I am away, which I am sure you all know is multi-colored like trix cereal for kids. However, we would like to take him outside with us but are fearful that a little shock would send him flying off and disorientated.
