Hi. I keep parrots (Amazons and greys)and we have always used covers. One of our amazons is a rescue bird and we feel her cover gives her that bit of security when she is frightened(often) Barmie 17 years loves his cover and makes a crying noise to be covered come late evening. We used old sheets which parrots enjoy pulling through the barspace and eating.They look abit of a mess and lets face it

I've looked up and down the web for info on what is necessary to move to Australia with my CAG and TAG. Everything seems geared towards dogs and cats and the only thing about birds is that they will be destroyed at the airport.

I have a grey named "Cleo", I got him from a friend not long after he had recovered from a bacterial virus. He had plucked all of his feathers, except his head and wings. When we got him his down had just started to come in. My question is how long will it take for his outer feathers to come in. We've had him since January 2003, his down is fairly thick now.

I am looking at buying an Timneh Grey. The only hold back right now is the cage. I plan on building my own. Be it all metal or plexiglass. I didn't know birds could be kept in plexiglass cages till I saw a few while doing research.

Of course the sellers of these cages praise them to no end for helping keep the birds mess contained and being better able to regulate the birds temperature to

We have not clipped our grey`s wing and he has the rule of the roost at home. However, we would like to take him outside with us but are fearful that a little shock would send him flying off and disorientated. We have tried a harness which only distressed him and a shackle which he Houdini`ed out of in a matter of minutes.

Certainly sometimes when my CAG is bored with me In any event it wants to disturbingly fly away but I disabled witch because of clippin. At that time at those moments I feel sorry for the bird.
But then again a bird which cannot fly is less bird not? Of course, the chance that it will largely fly through the window exists but my previous birds also never were able to fly through it. T

Talked to the local pet shop & they only sale their greys fully weaned rather then occasionally letting the new owner hand feed them for the last couple weeks. Opinions?

We have a fully appropriately fighted four year old african gray with good tempermant, & probably do not wanna loose him! Some of our freinds claim that there is a health risk.
